[KFOTITLE]

When I first sat down with Steve Yamaguma of Design2market, he highly recommended that I add a blog to my soon to be and newly redesigned website. I initially had mixed feelings about blogging, wondering what I would write about. Subsequently, I now realize that I can do it and am looking forward to posting.

Feelings of joy and gratitude arise with the launching of this new website and blog, thank you to Lior, Josh and Steve. I am also grateful to these three wonderful ladies; Flo Oy Wong, Lisa and Jennifer Brinn for their assistance in the website content. I/we could not have done it without you. And while I am on the subject, I would like to recognize my friends, Nadja and Gracie for their undying love and support. And now, I am ready to get down to the business of Art.

Today was a great studio day with lots of work in progress. My Chakra paintings are taking on a new dimension, I just finished this piece yesterday. The first of my new Earth Chakras, a mixed media concoction of found and unfound objects such as wood and branches, fabrics, yarns, healing crystals, rafia, and gold netting. I am no longer attracted to paint alone, I am seeking richness through a more earthy and grounded form by adding textural components in my work.

Small Works

Small Works in Progress

These are a new series of small works on paper. I just laid the base colors and set them out to dry. I plan to layer with more colors, dry pigments, and perhaps some mixed media.

In addition, I am preparing for Open Studios in late April and am also working on an installation piece for the Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center at SomArts in May. Things are really churning and I have been very busy not only making art, but with the marketing of my work as well. Here is the breakdown of upcoming events to date:
